now will be an investment in the future. We have listed the Cockburn products
available in Western Australia and where to use them to their best advantage.
What is the easiest way to get the best
mix for your mortar?
Cockburn Cement’s blended products Brickies Lite Coastal M4 Cement, Brickies Lite, and Brickies Grey.
 First
choice for most of Perth’s top builders, these products provide
you with a perfect blend of Cockburn Cement and Hylime (builders hydrated lime) that conforms with
an M3 Australian Standard classification. All that you need to do is add
the sand and the water.
 Brickies
Lite is a 50/50 blend by volume of our Cockburn Crème and Hylime. This
gives you the rich cream coloured mortar that is the first choice for
anyone building a new home.
Brickies
Grey is a 50/50 blend by volume of our Cockburn General Purpose Grey Cement and Hylime and provides a worry free grey mortar perfect for internals,
under a render finish or even an external grey mortar.
Brickies Lite Coastal M4 Cement is a 66/33 blend by volume of our Cockburn Creme and Hylime. This give you the rich cream coloured mortar which is blended to an M4 ratio for a stronger lasting finish for coastal regions between 0 and 1 km from the coastline.

Mixed correctly with Hylime and sand will give you an excellent
cream colour and great durability.
Mortar
Pack
Available in crème or grey 30kg bags. Premixed ready to
use pack including cement, sand and Hylime (just add water!)
White
Cement
If you want a white mortar, mix with Hylime and white brickies
sand.
Important: Remember
when deciding on a light coloured mortar, the selection of sand is important.
The colour of the sand and cement will control the final colour of the
mortar.

Some Grey Mortars Include:
General Purpose Cement
Comes in 20kg and 40kg bags and when mixed with Hy-Lime and sand
will give a consistent and easy to work mortar.
Masonry
Cement
Masonry Cement has a plasticiser added during the production
and needs only to be mixed with sand and water. (No additives required)
Hylime
This versatile product is designed especially for the harsh Western
Australian sands. When used in mortars the result is a superior easy to
use mortar. It is an important component in the pre-blend products Brickies
Lite and Brickies Grey.
